If you are reading this, you've already done the installation!
In addition to the files contained in this folder, the InternetConfig Commands OSAX has been installed into your Scripting Additions folder (which is in your Extensions folder). The OSAX is for use by users of AppleScript. Users of Frontier should install the two Frontier files contained in the ICScriptor folder - one for accessing the ICScriptor application and one for direct access to Internet Config itself!
ICScriptor refers to the complete package of tools for accessing Internet Config via a scripting system - the ICScriptor application the InternetConfig Commands OSAX and the Frontier install files.
Also included in this installer is the COMPLETE source code to all parts of ICScriptor. You will need to do a "Custom Install" to get them though...
System Requirements
ICScriptor requires System 7.0 (or later) but is only really useful if you also have Internet Config and an OSA compliant scripting language (AppleScript, Userland Frontier, QuicKeys 3, tclScript, etc.). ICScriptor is 32-bit clean, ‘040 cache, PowerMac, AV and virtual memory compatible. In other words, as long as you have System 7.0 (or later), Internet Config and a scripting language it will work!
Description
ICScriptor is a collection of pieces which allow one to access the Internet Config preferences from an OSA compliant scripting language. If the previous sentence doesn't make any sense to you, then you do NOT need ICScriptor!
The parts are as follows:
* ICScriptor, the application, is for the Apple event purists who remember that Apple events are to be sent between applications and that is how the language is extended!
* InternetConfig Commands is a set of OSAXen for AppleScript that given scripts direct access (without the need for an application) to the Internet Config preferences.
* ICScriptor.Frontier and systems.extensions.ic are Frontier install files for accessing the ICScriptor application and Internet Config directly, respectively.
For more info about the scripting vocabulary of ICScriptor, see the "ICScriptor Dictionary" file in this folder.
What's not in here
The one part of the Internet Config preferences which are not accessable via ICScriptor as of the b1 release are the "file mappings". I may get around to this in future versions, but since the sources are available, feel free to beat me to it!
